Though prices vary widely depending on the town.“Home prices were supposed to be relatively flat across the state this year,” Skea said. “But with the lack of inventory, prices are still increasing.”
Shore house buyers are now typically in their 50s, empty nesters or becoming empty nesters, Stefanoni said. The three bedroom, two bathroom ranch home was listed April 14 for $975,000 and had 28 showings through Sunday. There were eight offers, including two that were “significantly higher than list price,” said Michael Skea of Ward Wight Sotheby’s International Realty, the listing agent.
