which brings back a new version of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to spar across from Ryan Reynolds’ potty-mouthed antihero.
The duo are clearly frenemies, with Wolverine irritated by Deadpool’s endless antics, but since both are essentially invulnerable and capable of regeneration, violent confrontations between the two are generally fruitless. We see that in the below trailer, as Deadpool gingerly removes his blades from Wolverine’s torso, while giving him a little pep-talk for his next fight.
That’s against Sabretooth who we see in all his hideous, bearded glory in the trailer below. Check it out: We also get a glimpse of Matthew Macfadyen’s Mobius M. Mobius, an agent of the Time Variance Authority . We last met a version of Mobius inplayed by Owen Wilson. Wilson did a tremendous job in that role, but I’m excited to see how Macfadyen handles this version of the character because he’s a terrific actor who I last saw in HBO’swhich he was brilliant in. It’s kind of funny that Macfadyen has the same initials as Mobius as well.
As for Sabretooth, the comic book version is a powerful psychopath with heightened senses, superhuman strength, his own set of adamantium claws and a long-running feud with Wolverine. His real name is Victor Creed and he’s basically a more animalistic version of Wolverine. Whereas Logan tries to contain his bestial nature, Sabretooth embraces it.#14 way, way back in 1977 and was first known as the Slasher.
