Hero plumber saving lives this Christmas thanks to heartbreaking promise to tragic son
A hero plumber who offers his time and skills for free has transformed into a modern day Father Christmas thanks to a heartbreaking promise to his baby son.
James has himself spent time homeless and his charitable work is inspired not only by his own experiences of hardship but also by a promise he made during unimaginable tragedy. In 2013, his baby son William died and it was then he made a promise to be a better man in his memory. Thanks to James's promise and his continued good work, people across Lancashire and much further beyond will not have to spend this Christmas in freezing conditions and families all over the country will be given desperately needed food. He has shared the heartbreaking reality of recent jobs on social media as he continues to fundraise to allow the charity work to help as many people as possible.
James has previously spoke of how the work and the situations he sees has an impact on him. Speaking to the Mirror in June, he said: “I cry every day. I’ve never seen things this bad. One old lady needed a new boiler, we were trying to get one for her, she had no heating or hot water.
