Hertfordshire County Council confirmed that if temperatures fall between 0.5C and 3C then crews are placed on formal standby to go gritting.

This evening and the early hours of the morning, the Met office says that the East of England could drop to 2C, with Watford hovering around 3C.A council spokesperson said: “With regards to tonight our current forecast suggests we will be on standby but may be required to go gritting as the road surface temperatures are falling marginally.
