Catherine, the Princess of Wales, announced that she is undergoing treatment for cancer, ending wide speculation about her whereabouts in 2024. America, it’s time we mind our business and let it go.
This grab taken from a video released by the BBC Studios on Friday March 22, 2024, shows Britain's Kate, the Princess of Wales recording her message announcing that following her abdominal surgery in January "tests after the operation found cancer had been present." Kate, said Friday she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
I watched the announcement, thinking about the fragility of human life. This could happen to any of us. Not only does the Princess of Wales need to find comfort in the belief that she will recover, she must help her three young children deal with the very fear of losing her mother. There aren’t enough luncheons or perfect pairs of nude shoes that can make that job less daunting.
It was clear the royal family wasn’t processing well. Who would, especially when the internet demands perfection at all times.
