A popular takeaway in Liverpool city centre has become a local favourite for its delicious Korean and Japanese dishes, particularly its Mega Chicken. The author, known for succumbing to FOMO, decided to try the famous dish and shares their experience of the bustling venue and the flavourful meal.

I'm someone who struggles with FOMO . I've been known to get ready at 1 am on Saturday nights, just in case my friends are having too much fun without me, and I've fallen for several useless gadgets advertised on TikTok by random strangers thousands of miles away. It's a dangerous mindset, one I wish I could resist more often. But this week, I happily succumbed to the urge.

The ECHO recently reported on a hidden takeaway gem in Merseyside that foodies have been flocking to for years, especially for one of its cult favorite dishes. Naturally, I wanted to experience it myself, and with the Lunar New Year approaching, I thought it was the perfect time to treat myself. Hidden away on a back street in the city center, Chop Chop is a bustling takeaway where eight staff members serve hundreds of customers every day. The faded maroon-colored venue, located on Fenwick Street, regularly has queues snaking out the door, and it was no different when I visited on Tuesday. Workers from Liverpool's business district braved the freezing temperatures and joined the line hoping to get their hands on one of the steaming boxes of freshly cooked food waiting inside. The restaurant offers a mix of culinary delights from Korea and Japan, but I already knew what meal was going to be a feast for my taste buds before I even arrived. It was the Mega Chicken; a £7.50 box of deep-fried crispy chicken in homemade sticky soy sauce served over white rice and topped with fried vegetables. I wasn't the only one craving this dish, as every few minutes another customer would excuse themselves past me to order their own Mega Chicken. The small business could only accommodate a handful of customers inside, and I was tired of competing for elbow space, so I decided to take it to go. The box was overflowing - not only with food but also with flavor. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness. Although it looks simple, it definitely packs a punch and takes you on a culinary adventure. The piping-hot steam and comforting smell from the brown-paper box filled the room. I had other options on the table, as my flatmate opted for chicken gyozas and popcorn chicken. However, it was impossible to take my fork away from the mouthwatering star of the show right in front of me, even for a moment. It's easy to see why so many people keep coming back for more, and after my lunchtime meal, I think I can officially call myself converted - a new devotee
