Scotland's big cities all performed relatively poorly in the Sunday Times ranking of local authorities.
The Highland Council has been ranked as being the worst in Scotland for public services in a new Sunday Times list.
East Renfrewshire was ranked first place overall and scored highly in education and community, with a laudable 88 per cent of their primary pupils scoring as expected on literacy and having good attendance records. Scotland’s big cities didn’t fare strongly in the list. Glasgow ranked 17th overall in the table, with a strong performance for health services, but was ranked very weak for education coming in 26th place.
The best performing area for crime was Aberdeenshire but the area had a poor score for health, coming in at 25th. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
