Highway Patrol veteran declared 'I don't care about speed' as he drove at up to 230km/h to a job, a court has heard.

Leading Senior Constable Bradley Beecroft was charged after he travelled at a high speed to help an injured colleague who was involved in a collision on the side of a freeway. Dashcam vision along with police body-worn camera footage was played in court today, where he was recorded saying: "I don't care about speed" after passing a speed camera. He and his partner were responding, under lights and sirens, to another officer who had been rear-ended on the Hume Highway near Eurora in Victoria's north-east.He then activated lights and sirens as well as the in-car camera, engaging in what's called "urgent duty driving".Beecroft's partner today told the court he was not concerned enough to tell the accused to slow down.
