Hillwalker died 'doing what he loved' on Scots mountain as heartbroken family raise £20k for rescue team
Heartbroken loved ones of a hillwalker who died "doing what he loved best" on Ben More have raised nearly £20,000 for the rescue teams that battled to save him.
Andrew's wife Emma said: "Andrew died as a result of a tragic accident doing what he loved on the hills. "Emma and Andrew's family are so hugely grateful to the Killin Mountain Rescue Team for everything they did for Andrew. It has been an incredibly tough time for everyone who knew Andrew but also for the brave and selfless volunteers who worked tirelessly to get Andrew home.
Craig is set to take part in the Kiltwalk as he hopes to raise cash for Andrew's loved ones. He said: "On January 28th 2023 we lost Andrew Kirk whilst doing what he loved hiking up Ben More. Andrew was a beloved husband to my cousin Emma, son to Helen, brother to Jenni and close friend to me and hundreds of others who knew him well.
