When Cambriani was challenged by a woman in the victim's party he laughed at her and called her a 's**g'
A customer in a bar was attacked and pushed down a flight of stairs after a man felt "wronged" over a missing drink, a court has heard. Stefan Cambriani's victim was left unconscious and bleeding at the foot of the stairs, and it was feared he had gone into cardiac arrest.
Caitlin Brazel, prosecuting, told the court that on the night of December 26, 2023, the victim was with friends in the Whitez sports bar in Swansea's Uplands when he was approached by Cambriani. Cambriani accused him of drinking from his glass, before the victim tried to explain that he hadn't taken the drink, the court was told.
The prosecutor said it was initially feared that the casualty had gone into cardiac arrest but that proved not to be the case. The injured man was rushed to Morriston Hospital regaining consciousness in the ambulance en route. He accepted putting he man in a headlock but said he was acting in self-defence, and he accepted pushing the man but said he was unaware they were standing at the top of the stairs.
He said the defendant had found himself "unable to deal with his emotions" after feeling "wronged" over the missing drink, and he said Cambriani rightly feels "shamed and appalled" by his behaviour in the bar. The barrister said his client's misuse of alcohol was an issue which needed to be addressed, and he said Cambriani also struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorder.
