Very sad to see - a high street legend
Leonard Dews is one of the oldest jewellers in the North West, however, owner Michael Hyman announced the imminent closure of the store on Tuesday . A closing down sale is set to start on Saturday to get ready for the closure.
But over 146 years later it is now owned by Michael Hyman and is one of the most well-known jewellers in Blackpool. In 1959 the business was bought by the current owners, another local jewellery family business, Hymans. “My father, who passed away in 1977, was hugely knowledgeable about diamonds and taught me everything I needed to know. But watches were always my passion, so I went to Switzerland to understand how the finest quality watches were manufactured.”
