A 60-year-old bicyclist suffered a life-threatening brain bleed and broken neck Sunday morning when she was struck in Rancho Peñasquitos by the driver of an SUV that fled the scene, according to police.
The victim, riding a mountain bike, was riding east toward I-15 when the SUV heading in the same direction veered to the right and struck her from behind, Foster said. Investigators described the vehicle as a midsized SUV that was either silver or charcoal gray.
