Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a car allegedly deliberately crashed into fans outside Villa Park yesterday. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Witton Road in Aston at approximately 5:15 pm following a collision involving a vehicle and multiple pedestrians. One fan sustained injuries to her leg after being struck by the car, with photos revealing extensive bruising.
The woman, who was attending the game with her grandmother and niece, said she felt 'shocked and shaken' following the incident. She suffered ligament damage and will require a leg brace for several weeks. A police spokesman stated: 'We were called to a collision involving a car and pedestrians in Witton Road, Aston, yesterday (Saturday). Thankfully no-one was seriously injured. We are investigating and carrying out CCTV inquiries to identify the vehicle.'
