The taxpayer reached out to the financial service and tax department via X, formerly Twitter, on August 13 (Tuesday) to discuss the query with them.
HMRC has issued a caution to state pensioners about the necessity of "proof" letters amid the Cost of Living crisis. On August 13, a taxpayer reached out to the tax authority via X, previously known as Twitter, seeking guidance on the matter.
In response, one individual inquired: "Probably the wrong department but I'm looking for proof of what my state pension I'm getting as I'm trying to possibly claim some travel expenses. I am unable to find my original letters as yet but I will keep looking." Another user chimed in: "Hi....Travelling to an out of town hospital.", reports Birmingham Live. When another added, "I know how much I get they are asking for proof, unable to find my original letters as the moment."
