Around half a million people were affected by an issue which meant that they did not receive their monthly payment as scheduled
HM Revenue and Customs has issued an update to everyone who did not receive their Child Benefit payment on Monday.
However, HMRC has now confirmed that those who did not receive their Child Benefit payment on Monday will now get it later this week instead. An HMRC spokesperson said: “We are very sorry that some customers did not receive their scheduled child benefit payments as expected and we understand the concern and difficulty this may have caused.
You can get Child Benefit if you’re responsible for bringing up a child under 16, or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training. Only one person can get Child Benefit for a child and there is no limit to how many children you can claim for.
