A woman has taken to social media after her dad received two different tax codes in the post and she wondered why this would have happened
A person reached out to HMRC feeling perplexed because their relative had been issued two different tax codes. The individual queried via X, asking: "My dad's just received two different tax code letters. Why would this happen please?"
HMRC then inquired if the man had a personal tax account to verify his current tax code online. She replied to state that the tax codes given to her father were S1143L X and S1180L X. In a separate incident, another taxpayer contacted HMRC confused about receiving letters meant for someone else. They pleaded: "Please help. I've been receiving letters for someone who doesn't live at my address."
