Fortunately, United are in a slightly better position in terms of squad health, though they are still without a number of key defenders, such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw. Manager Erik ten Hag was forced to include four goalkeepers in the 21-man squad that travelled to Germany a fortnight ago. Diogo Dalot is a shoo-in at right-back and it is highly likely that Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof will start in the centre-back spots. Harry Maguire, however, will be pushing for a starting berth.
In the event of Fernandes starting on the right, Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford, despite the latter's recent struggles, are likely to join him in attack. Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho are knocking on the door in search of starting berths.
