Holly Hunter Joins Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Cast in Key Role

The cast of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is officially rounding out, as Holly Hunter is set to star in the upcoming Paramount+ series.

The news was confirmed on the official Star Trek on Paramount+ account on X, where it was also revealed that Hunter will play “the captain and chancellor” of the upcoming series. The Academy Award-winner will oversee both the faculty and new class of Starfleet cadets, according to a report from.

The series will begin filming this summer, with no other casting announcements having been made as of yet. Hunter is no stranger to high-profile roles, having voiced Helen Parr/Elastigirl in 2004’s The Incredibles and 2018’s Incredibles 2. She also had starring roles in films like 1987’s Raising Arizona, 1995’s Home for the Holidays, 2000’s O Brother, and 2017’s The Big Sick.“Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will introduce us to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism,” the synopsis for the series reads.
