She felt it was the right time to leave the show
Holly Willoughby was "moved" by the tributes after she announced she would be leaving This Morning. The ITV star quit the show on Tuesday, October 10, with Rochelle Humes and Craig Doyl leading the tributes the following day.
A friend of the 42-year-old told the Mirror: "Holly felt she had to go, but she got in touch to say how moved she was by the tribute, it meant a lot to her.” The tribute given by Humes and Doyl saw the titles change and also included a speech from the pair, reports Birmingham Live. Opening the episode of This Morning on Wednesday, October 11, Humes said: "Of course, we want to start by sending our love, best wishes and respect to our Holly. Holly loved her job here and was really looking forward to the future of the show."But recent events, especially in the past week, have been hard to deal with and she's quite rightly putting her family first.
Later in the episode, Vanessa Feltz described Holly as “through and through a golden-hearted, sweet, funny, extremely bright”. She added: “Don’t be fooled by that pretty face to think there’s nothing behind the eyes – clever, intuitive, incisive, fabulous person.”
