95-year-old actress Dalyce Curry tragically perished in the devastating Eaton Fire that ravaged Altadena, California. Her remains were found in the ashes of her home.

Hollywood actress Dalyce Curry tragically lost her life in the horrific Los Angeles wildfires. The 95-year-old's remains were sadly found in her ruined home in Altadena, amidst the devastating Eaton Fire. The coroner confirmed on Sunday that they had discovered Dalyce's remains. Known affectionately as Momma D to her family, Dalyce had a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in films such as The Blues Brothers, The Ten Commandments and Lady Sings the Blues.

Her granddaughter had dropped her off at home late Tuesday night after a day filled with hospital appointments. Tragically, it was later confirmed that the 95-year-old did not survive the fire. When her granddaughter woke up the next morning, she received a text informing her that the power had gone out at her grandmother's house. Upon arriving at the Altadeana area, an officer informed her: 'I'm sorry your grandmother's property is gone. It totally burned down.' The officer suggested she head to the Pasadena Civic Center, where residents displaced by the fire had been sent, reports the Mirror. On Friday, she was taken to what remained of her grandmother's home. 'It was total devastation. Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac,' she remembered. Sadly, it has now been confirmed that her grandmother did not survive the fire. On Sunday, while the search was still ongoing, she told Eyewitness News that she was 'still praying for a miracle'. She added: 'Honestly we don't feel very hopeful that she's still here with us.' As the search for Dalyce Curry continued, her granddaughters paid tribute to her. One of them told KABC: 'Our souls are aching, our hearts are broken. She loved Altadena. There is no one who loved that city more than my grandmother. She said she had yet begun to live, so I knew she would just be here beyond 100. She still wanted to date, she wanted to find a husband ... They have to do better with the emergency system because there's a that was a very elderly kind of community.' The granddaughter expressed her concerns about the emergency system, saying: 'There's a lot of retirees there, and we can't just rely on the cellphone, because elderly people don't really do cellphones. They don't. That's not the only way we should notify people when there's evacuation orders.' She also questioned why the evacuation order wasn't issued earlier, saying: 'And why did it not happen earlier? Why was I allowed to be to have access to her home at midnight and not have any danger warnings? No highway signs up the way saying, 'This is evacuation zone.''. Another granddaughter, Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, added: 'She just loved life, and at 95 she was still very active. She looked beautiful – she took really good care of herself, she took great pride in who she was and who she represented -- and she was an amazing grandmother. I felt so privileged to know this woman and to have her as my grandmother.
