An American actress who rose to fame in the 90s was reduced to tears telling social media followers how she and her husband assisted dozens of terrified students fleeing the massacre.

Melissa Joan Hart, who is most well-known for playing the lead role in 90s sitcom Sabrina The Teenage Witch, revealed in an emotional video on Instagram she and her husband helped a class of kindergarten children who wereThe 46-year-old said she was in the Green Hills area to attend conferences at their children's school when they spotted the terrified students in the bushes.

"They were trying to escape the shooter situation.. So we helped all these tiny little kids cross the road and get their teachers... and we helped a mum reunite with her children."She relocated her family from Connecticut where she had lived near Sandy Hook, which is the town where the deadliest elementary school shooting occurred in 2012.

"This is our second experience with a school shooting with our kids being in close proximity," the actress continued as she became frustrated.
