Home and Away's Ray Meagher rushed to hospital for emergency heart surgery
The actor - who plays Alf Stewart in the Australian soap - was discovered to have three serious blockages in his arteries and taken to hospital for a triple heart bypass, according to the Melbourne Herald Sun.The newspaper reports Ray feels "very, very lucky" to have been treated and is currently recovering at home.
The actor sparked worry from fans earlier this year when he announced he would be scaling back his role on the soap. "From now on, on a new contract, I’ll probably work 35-36 weeks of the year. So it’s just taking a tiny bit more time out, but I ain’t going nowhere."
