A Homebase store in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, is currently holding a closing down sale, with its future uncertain as The Range seeks further expansion. The store's fate is tied to the recent administration of Homebase, which saw the sale of up to 70 stores to The Range owner CDS Superstores.

A closing down sale is currently taking place at a Homebase store in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, as the premises could soon be taken over by a different retailer. The Arnold store is just one of the units that will be closing down after the retailer collapsed into administration. While 11 stores will be turned into Sainsbury's, including the one in Newark, the Arnold shop's future remains unclear.

Following the appointment of administrators on November 13, a sale of up to 70 stores was completed, with The Range owner CDS Superstores buying them. Similarly to Wilko, shoppers will still be able to shop with Homebase online, while the 70 stores in question are expected to become The Range stores. The move is expected to secure about 1,600 jobs and the stores will continue trading until handed over to CDS. It is unclear when the Arnold store will close and whether it will be turned into The Range. A closing down sale is currently in place, however, with big 'everything must go' signs announcing shoppers of the closure. A further 49 stores across the country will continue to trade as normal whilst the administrators continue to discuss their futures with interested parties. The Arnold store is open between 9am and 7pm on Monday and Saturday, between 9am and 4pm on Tuesday, between 9am and 8pm on Thursday and Friday, and between 10am and 4pm on Sunday. The store is closed on Wednesday. Nottinghamshire Live has approached The Range for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication
