The affected vehicles are 2020-2024 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks, which were manufactured between November 2019 and April 2024, per CBS.to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration by Honda, CBS reported the camera wiring on the affected Ridgelines are susceptible to cracking, as a result of water and salt attaching to the wiring in low temperatures.
Honda reported that it received 402 warranty claims related to the issue, according to CBS, which reported that no deaths or injuries have been reported. "The cracks are further expanded with the repeated freezing and thawing of saltwater and the opening and closing of the tailgate, ultimately resulting in fatigue and breakage of the tailgate harness electric wires," Honda wrote in theOnce the wire harness breaks, the rearview camera is no longer able to operate, which can increase the risk of injury.
