Pro-democracy demonstrators stage a sit-in at Hong Kong's airport in the hopes of winning international support from arriving passenger
"We have made stickers, banners in over 16 languages, ranging from Japanese to Spanish."We are not rioters, we are a group of Hong Kong people fighting for human rights and freedom."
Protesters have been venting their fury with chief executive Carrie Lam's administration since a controversial extradition bill was announced which would have allowed people to be sent to mainland China for trial. Those opposing the bill believe it would restrict Hong Kong's democratic freedoms and could lead to unfair trials.
A similar airport took place on 26 July and ended peacefully, and there was no indication on Friday that police planned to use force to end what was planned as a three-day demonstration.
