Her biggest role, however, is undoubtedly that of Mary Quinn in Channel 4’s Derry Girls. Des McAleer as Berry Pettigrew Barry is back – but what does the fourth series have in store for him? Belfast-born actor Des McAleer portrays taxi driver Barry Pettigrew, uncle of sergeant Marlene. Barry has been right by Marlene’s side ever since she was little and the past three series’ have seen him offer advice to pretty much everyone in Port Devine whenever they need it.
