Please read our Please read ourEddie Howe’s side of course having had the weekend off due to Man U’s FA Cup involvement and 11 days between games to prepare for Wednesday night at Selhurst Park.
Up against a West Ham team who had exited in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night, Sunday’s outcome was maybe the least expected of the season, in terms of Crystal Palace winning. As it happens, they let West Ham off the hook a bit. David Moyes admitted he was embarrassed by what he’d witnessed, the Hammers somehow ‘only’ losing 5-2 in the end. The visitors somehow scoring twice despite only one effort on target. Their other strike was a comedy own goal courtesy of Palace.Survival now surely guaranteed and their fans having seen more than three goals in a Premier League game for the first time this season and indeed this was only their fifth home PL win.
Wednesday night has the makings of a very decent game, with Newcastle coming off the back of wins over Fulham and that smashing of Tottenham. Plus, only Man City have better recent Premier League form than Eddie Howe’s side.
