Emergency services scrambled to the scene where a cordon went up and residents were evacuated at around 5.25pm on Saturday.
Now security footage shared with Stoke-on-Trent Live shows the very moment a lighting bolt appeared to hit the property on Bambury Street in Longton.
One witness said a motorist had stopped and told them the home's roof was on fire. The incident came at a time where the city was under a yellow warning for thunderstorms.
