A former pub in north Liverpool could be converted into short stay accommodation to attract match-going football fans.
The application said it hopes to encourage those who were seeking “an alternative to expensive city centre properties.”A management statement for the plans lodged by M Ahmed said: “The former public house, including the basement will be completely restored to create accommodation for those visiting the nearby football stadia, along with those that wish to stay just out of the city centre finding an alternative to expensive city centre properties.
Development of the former pub is being envisioned to “provide a unique experience to football fans that want a connection to the rich football culture within the area and also for people wishing to explore both Liverpool City Centre and the surrounding areas,” according to the documents. No parking is to be provided at the site, with public transport available and both football stadiums in walking distance.
