Callers are still furious at the late postponement of Sunday's top flight clash – the fourth at Dens this season – finds Fraser Wilson.
SPFL chiefs have launched an investigation into Dundee’s dodgy pitch after the Taysiders' clash with Rangers was KO’d on Sunday. But Hotline callers have already concluded the Dens surface isn’t fit for purpose after what was the fourth call-off of the season.
John Davidson, Kirkintilloch, said: “Due to the fact that's been the fourth postponement this season, the authorities should award the match and points to Rangers and that would resolve the problem of trying to organise a date for the rearrangement before the split.” View gallery Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, said: “Any Premiership club who has four games postponed in any one season due to rain should not be in the top flight. Dundee should be forced to have a capable drainage system installed no matter the cost to the club or forfeit the games and points awarded to the opponents, it cost the club and supporters time and money to get the those games only to be informed 90 mins before KO the game is cancelled? That should never happen at any level whatsoever.
John Scott, Grassmoor, has a solution. He said: “It's about time both Dundee clubs got their act together and built a modern 18,000 seat stadium they could share. Inter and AC Milan, Roma and Lazio, Sampdoria and Genoa. Six world renowned Italian clubs sharing stadiums. If cities the size of Milan, Rome and Genoa can make it work then surely Dundee can. Create traditional ends, three dressing rooms, one each independent of each other and a third for visiting clubs.
