The medical drama television series House ran for eight seasons before ending on May 21, 2012. Unfortunately, the show will likely never get revived.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The world of television is full of reboots and revivals in this day and age, but fans of House should not hold out hope for new episodes featuring their favorite sarcastic doctor. The Fox medical drama television series starred Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House, the Head of Diagnostic Medicine at the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.
Aside from Laurie, the rest of the House cast was comprised of Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy, Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson, Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase, Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron, Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman, Olivia Wilde as Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Radley, Peter Jacobson as Dr. Chris Taub, and Kal Penn as Dr. Lawrence Kutner. The Fox show came to an end on May 21, 2012, after eight seasons and 177 episodes.
House's Series Finale Makes A Revival Impossible Following the House series finale, a revival featuring House and the other doctors at the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital will probably never happen. House faked his death by switching out his dental records with one of his patients after a building caught on fire and exploded in the final episode of the medical drama series.
House ended with House and Wilson traveling across the country via motorcycle and living out Wilson's last months together. Prior to the series finale, Wilson was diagnosed with stage II thymoma and given only six months to live. His death was a certainty, and since everyone already thought that House was dead, it made perfect sense for them to enjoy the time they had left together by visiting different places. However, given these developments, a House revival is impossible.
House Would Need A Drastic Character Change For A Reboot Show A House revival is unlikely, thanks to the series finale, but a reboot with a new cast playing doctors at the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital is possible. However, the hypothetical reboot's version of Dr. House would need to be significantly different from Hugh Laurie's character. His cynical nature and unorthodox methods might not hold up as well in the 2020s as they did in the 2000s.
