House prices have soared by more than £43,570 since first lockdown
Monthly house prices grew 1.4 per cent in March - the biggest increase in six months - according to Halifax. Average property prices reached record high of £282,753 in March - a £43,577 rise since start of pandemic.
The March property price rise comes despite the Bank of England raising interest rates from 0.5% to 0.75%. However experts believe rate of growth may slow later this year as the UK's cost of living crisis begins to bite
