House Republicans are demanding testimony from Colette Peters after she blocked Congress from speaking with former Trump official Peter Navarro.
On Monday, House Judiciary Committee member Matt Gaetz was denied a request to speak with Navarro by Peters on the grounds that he was “too notorious” to meet with a member of Congress.
“Your refusal to allow a Member of Congress to meet with Dr. Navarro — in addition to BOP’s efforts to prevent Mr. Galanis from speaking to Congress — raise serious questions about the politicization of BOP,” theThe latter part refers to Jason Galanis, a former associate of President Joe Biden who claims he is being mistreated in prison due to his speaking out against the president.Gaetz previously revealed Peters’s prevention of interviewing Navarro on the House floor earlier this week.
“John Gotti was interviewed when he was in prison! The Qanon shaman was interviewed in prison! Director Peters herself brought NBC News through prisons to showcase the work of corrections that’s being done,” he added. “So I think there is something else afoot here.” BREAKING: I was informed today by the Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons that my request to interview
would be denied. And her reason is that Peter Navarro is “too notorious” to be interviewed by a member of Congress!
