A Scottish Government event celebrating a new housing development took an unexpected turn when a civil servant crashed a pool car into a fence. An SNP Government event at a new housing development hit the buffers when a civil servant crashed his car on site. A spin doctor was left red faced after the pool car smashed into a fence in Prestwick during a visit by Housing Minister Paul McLennan.
A Government insider cracked a joke about the official’s ropey driving: “Thankfully the only thing that was hurt was the civil servant’s pride.” The accident came on the same day new figures showed the number of children living in temporary accommodation has reached a record level. As of September 30th, there were 16,634 households living in short-term digs, including 10,360 children.
