Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds await outcome of Profitability and Sustainability Rules breach hearing
Nottingham Forest are awaiting the outcome of last week’s hearing into their Profitability and Sustainability Rules charge.
What have Forest been charged with? On January 15, the Reds were charged with breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules. Financial regulations state Premier League clubs are only allowed to make a maximum loss of £105 million across a rolling three-year period, or £35m each season.
What happens next? The rules state the commission “must provide its decision” within one week of the conclusion of the hearing. If Forest opt to appeal any punishment, the rules outline how any appeal must be lodged “no later than one week” following receipt of the decision. Everton were docked 10 points earlier in the season for a PSR breach, but appealed and their penalty was reduced to six points - albeit they are still facing a second charge.
