It led to her taking time away between international series earlier this year, a hiatus she believes is “starting to pay dividends”.
On top of her workload, Capsey has also experienced an unprecedented amount of attention – a combination of her age, and a £75,000 fee in the last two Women’s Premier League auctions when she signed for Delhi Capitals.“I’ve had to learn how to manage that,” she admits. “It was a shock to the system, that’s for sure. But I’m really fortunate I’ve got great people around me, whether it be my family, friends, teammates they’ve helped me manage my way through it.
There is little let-up after this World Cup, which takes place in the UAE rather than in Bangladesh – the official hosts – due to the“They’ve been the most successful cricket team for a very long time within the women’s game and they’ve been leading the way,” Capsey says.
