Gemma Outram has two jobs in the cruise industry in a bid to bump up her income
I’ve made 357 cruise bookings since starting my side-hustle, bringing in a turnover of over £1m. By the end of this year I would like to have made at least £1.5m in sales and I am aiming to reach £2m worth of sales by the end of April 2024. The biggest booking I’ve had to date came in at £15,000 and was for a family cruising the Indian Ocean and ending up in Cape Town, South Africa. I don’t have any paid adverts and the majority of my sales come from repeat customers.
After finishing my full-time job during the week, I usually spend three hours in the evening on my side-hustle business. I’ll then work three to four hours on a Saturday and an hour or so on a Sunday. I sacrifice a lot of evenings on the sofa. At some point, I’d like to be able to stop spending every evening on my laptop and free up my weekends.has affected everyone and having the ability to earn extra income on my own terms is great.
In the future, I’d also love to be in a position to be able to help my children as they grow up. I want to be able to help them go to university, buy their first car and get on the property ladder. I want them to know that working hard pays dividends and that they can achieve anything in life that they put their mind to.
