The most impressive part about Eichel’s impact is he’s doing it without scoring. He hasn’t scored in the past eight games for Vegas, but he has seven points during that span and has been exceptional in every other area. He’s been tenacious on the forecheck and strong along the walls, and he patrolled the defensive zone with authority.
Eichel’s reaction immediately after the hit looked worse than it was because he was rushing off the ice while trying to catch his breath from the booming hit. Cassidy went to Eichel to make sure he was good to go for the third period and assured him this is just part of trying to win a championship.
