The sinkhole has forced authorities to review the budget and delivery time for the underground motorway project in southern Sydney.

“Work to stabilise the exclusion zone is anticipated to take several months and Transport is working with property owners and to provide access sooner to allow some businesses to remove stock.” Transport for NSW said a review of the M6 project’s delivery time and budget was underway, while insurers were determining the cost of damage to buildings.to more than $3 billion in 2022. The first stage of the toll road, which will link Kogarah to the WestConnex motorway at Arncliffe, was due to open to traffic by the end of 2025, about a year later than originally planned.
