The warehouses’ developer said it’s taken steps, such as changing truck traffic patterns, to minimize the project’s effect on the schools.
The Inland Empire “has more than its fair share of schools that are impacted by warehouses,” said Mike McCarthy, a Riverside environmental consultant and critic of the Inland logistics boom. Corona, the school board president, said he’s frustrated because the Perris City Council land-use decision that set the stage for the Perris Logistics Center happened in 2010, well before any of the current school board members and most of the city council members were in office.
