Alabama softball got a clutch performance out of its catcher to stay alive in the Women's College World Series.

, Giles stepped up to the WCWS plate once again in the sixth inning. On a 1-0 count, Blue Devils pitcher Cassidy Curd sent one to the sweet spot, and Giles took advantage.

The home run wasn’t Giles’ only big hit Friday. In the first inning, she drove home Kenleigh Cahalan with an RBI double that gave the Tide an early lead.“She saw the ball as big as a basketball tonight,” Murphy said “It was perfect timing. We had a runner on, she hits the double. The next time she hits a home run. Two RBIs, one person. That’s all Beaver needed.”

If the catcher can keep coming up huge in big moments, it’d be a major boost for an Alabama team that tends to struggle offensively.
