NHS England has published data for the first time on the number of A&E patients waiting over 12 hours to be admitted
NHS data shows thousands of patients waited over 12 hours to be admitted, transferred or discharged when attending a Nottingham A&E last month. NHS England has published data for the first time showing the number of A&E patients who faced a wait of more than 12 hours.
The Nottinghamshire trust with the most amount of patients waiting more than 12 hours in A&E last month was the Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, which runs Queen's Medical Centre and the City Hospital. Data shows that 14.3% of their A&E patients waited over 12 hours - equating to 2,055 attendances.
That places NUH at number 33 out of the 120 trusts. Much further down the list is the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs King's Mill Hospital, where 5.2% of patients waited over 12 hours last month - equating to 440 attendances. The hospital trust in England where the most patients waited for more than 12 hours was the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Data shows 31.3% of their patients waited more than 12 hours - equating to 3,350 attendances.
