The man detained by police in Pennsylvania in connection with the shock slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has been identified as Luigi Mangione.
The 26-year-old suspect is originally from Towson, Maryland, and is an anti-capitalist former Ivy League student - who was valedictorian at his high school. 'At this time, he is believed to be our person of interest in the brazen targeted murder of Brian Thompson.' Mangione attended the coveted University of Pennsylvania, where he gained a degree in engineering in 2020. Before this, he graduated as valedictorian from the Gilman School in Baltimore, where tuition costs nearly $40,000 a year.
