Sanctions on benefits for people out of work will be toughened up under plans announced by the Government.on people who are out of work and claiming universal credit.

In the Budget, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced plans to toughen up sanctions to try to push more people into work by applying existing sanctions to larger numbers of people in a “more rigorous” fashion.
