The Melbourne comic’s set is filled with themes that create discomfort and tension in his audience: from parents’ disregard of mental health issues, to pop culture’s inability to sexualise South-Asian men.reminds the audience of the country’s love for an underdog, but also asks why that same love isn’t always extended to marginalised groups.
“We’ve got a unique culture. Island comedy punches in all directions. It’s self-deprecating, and we can get our truths across in a way that’s disarming,” Hussain says.
