The Household Support Fund was renewed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for 2024-25 in the latest Spring Budget

The Department for Work and Pensions is offering up to £865 in Household Support Fund cash - and now you can check if you can claim. Despite the DWP's direct Cost Of Living scheme coming to an end, payments are still being made to households across the UK this year to help with the financial challenges of daily life.

The scheme, a collaboration between the DWP and local councils, involves a pot of cash given to local authorities across the UK which is then distributed by each one as they see fit. In its announcement, the Government explains how the HSF works for 2024, reports the Express. It said: "£421m has been made available to County Councils and Unitary Authorities in England to support those most in need with the cost of essentials via the Household Support Fund.

One of the first councils to roll out the scheme is Coventry City Council. Bosses have unveiled its version of the Household Support Fund this week which is open to applications now until September 30, 2024. The statement reads: "Households who find themselves in financial difficulty can apply for a range of support; this includes households who have previously been ineligible following receipt of a Cost-of-Living Payment.
