Readers from Imperial Beach to Borrego Springs and Oceanside can join in summer reading activities at their local libraries
The Mission Valley Library is one of the many locations where locals across San Diego County can participate in summer reading programs. Readers from the youngest babies to longtime book lovers can participate in summer reading at library branches across San Diego County.
The San Diego Public Library’s branches can be found as far north as Rancho Bernardo and as far south as San Ysidro. And there are libraries that are unique to cities such as Chula Vista and Escondido. Participants can track their achievements online or pick up a paper log at their local branch. All ages can join this challenge to earn prizes such as books, frozen yogurt and passes to museums. There will also be a raffle.Through Aug. 31, readers can complete a combination of 10 total activities, books or reading hours to finish this challenge. The list of activities includes attending a library program, writing a poem and reading to a pet.
Participants can sign up in person at any of Chula Vista’s three branches to receive a paper bingo card or sign up online atWith a theme of “Read for the win,” Coronado Public Library is hosting summer reading through Aug. 17 for kids, teens and adults. Prizes can be earned based on number of reads with opportunities to be entered into grand prize drawings for each age group.
