Rebecca Wilson says: 'To ensure packed lunches aren't a stressful thing, the trick is to plan ahead'
aren’t a stressful thing, the trick is to plan ahead. If you’re super organised, write a meal plan at the start of the week. This will help if you’d like to make a big batch of food to include in packed lunches all week like crackers or muffins. But I know how busy life can get and this isn’t always possible, so having a look in the fridge and cupboards the day before will help you make a little plan in your head.
You can even go as far as making your own fruity yoghurts by blending plain Greek yoghurt with sweet fresh or frozen fruit and a little drizzle of honey. Pour it into watertight containers and this creamy mix will last in the fridge all week. It can then be easily packed up each morning and will save you lots on pre-packaged shop bought variations.
Theme days are very fun. Fridays can be pizza day. Perfect if you also make them together for dinner too the night before so that keeps the cost down. I bet your kiddo will love to tell their friends they made their own lunch the night before.
