“No matter what age you are, no matter what your level of sun damage is, it’s never too late to take care of your skin. Squamous cell carcinoma is also curable if caught early. Only about 2 percent of cases metastasize, but that’s when it becomes dangerous. Then the five-year survival rate is 40 percent.
