A huge blaze has torn through a skyscraper roof in Manhattan, New York, with plumes of smoke being seen above the city.
Many people took to social media to share photos and videos of the the fire. X/Twitter user @juanpitz said: "What is going on in Hudson Yards?" New York-based reporter Jade Nash said: "A building in Hudson Yards is burning right now. Took these images from my bedroom and called 911. Prayers." User @JohnBasham posted: "A large fire has erupted from the roof of a midtown Manhattan skyscraper filling the skies over New York City with thick smoke.
According to reports, the blaze prompted over 80 firemen from the New York Fire Department to respond. It is believed that they managed to control it. Local news sources say there have been no reports of fatalities or injuries as of yet. The NYFD has been approached by The Mirror for comment. The Set's rooftop terrace has a dining area, lounge, and swimming pool. Hudson Yards is renowned for housing some of Manhattan's priciest real estate, with rents sometimes reaching several thousand dollars a month.
